In 2010 came upon Transformers Prime and later on Transformers Cybertron games such as War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron yet when the aligned continuity was name War and Fall of Cybertron were part of the timeline which cause a lot of confusion in the universe. Before than there would have been RID Rescue Bots and a bad tie in game for the fourth Transformers movie.
Now I'm going to try to paraphrase some of the details on this blog post from TFWiki and this one here was hard to make cause of the changes made and researching of how their take of the Aligned Continuity was due to Clashing egos of creative teams' purpose plans continuity errors poor explanations of the characters and universes.
This would happen when Aaron Archer and Rik Alvarez wanted it to be separated earlier than the rest of the multiverse and previous universes. Hasbro stated that the universe anything you know from past generations of the brand may or may not be factual in the new continuity. But according to Rik Alvarez, while High Moon Studios were on board with the idea, the Prime creators didn't want to be tied to previous material instead High Moon Studios wanted to retold of the G1 Cartoon maybe do a third and final game that sets around earth and had previously stated a desire to move away from the Binder of Revelation and do their own thing. Between HMS and Prime Creators this resulted of bad blood between the creators when Transformers Prime Ended in 2013 another game material was coming too which was a tie-in tie in video game that was promoting Age of Extinction, call Rise of the dark spark resulted of creative teams that even further the Aligned Universe to not go as plan, this conceit would be quietly dropped, later in 2015 The Complete AllSpark Almanac and Ask Vector Prime confirmed that Aligned occupied the "Uniend" universal cluster in the "normal" multiverse. Speaking of which that Sentinel Prime" from the novels and "Zeta Prime" from the War for Cybertron video game as the same guy, "Sentinel Zeta Prime yet despite the fact that Sentinel wasn't really named as Sentinel before in the games too only Zeta Prime. High Moon Studios would be laid off from Activision and their plan game was never made.
Meanwhile Hasbro continued their take on the Aligned Continuity which was an ambitious take. Hasbro wanted IDW Publishing to do a New 52 Style reset on their current ongoing Transformers Continuity to have Prime and War for Cybertron games IDW were against that and had too much groundwork for their comic books. With changes Hasbro had plans for Transformers teaming up with GI Joe MASK and Candyland which was canceled and the creative team going to different directions Hasbro fail to explain of the confusion the reason for Haslab shutting down was due to Battleship released back in 2012 and bombing at the box office grossing of $303 million worldwide against it's $209-220 million. Prime's reason of cancellation was due to it's overbudget and Beast Hunters causing the creative to throw away their proposed Season 3 plan for a space pirate and set on Cybertron which have to restart for Season 3 and cause of Bad Blood Mutual misunderstandings and financial woes.
Previous Tie-In Endeavors developed similar problems with Jagex's Tie in MMORPG feel apart due to team changes and Prime Ended the creators stated that it was no longer a direct prequel to Prime as it originally intended before the show's premiere maybe to explain the styles and how come they look different from their game counterparts maybe if High Moon Studios plan the third game as a direct continuation of the cybetron games and reimagine of the G1 Cartoon. Rescue bots was never planned to be part of the continuity before Sideswipe Bumblebee and Prime show up and Hasbro confirmed it, Alvarez had to rewrite the final draft of Transformers: Exiles that revolved around the search for the Star Saber, which was slated to appear in Prime the following year, the book features a haphazard final battle t instead referring to the artifacts Optimus had gathered as pieces of the "Cyber Caliber". Andrew Hall has confirmed that this lined up with what he'd heard from other people and that much of this is part of the big ball o' fun that comes from working for large corporations. A Prequel game to Prime call Transformers Universe developed by Jagex but was cancelled after years of trouble development and team changes after it's beta testing three years late and never got off the ground but it would have been a different tf game than being connected.
Following the end of the Prime show, and departure of Archer and Alvarex from Hasbro's Transformers Division future writers have abandoned the Binder of Revelation altogether, forging a radically different direction for the continuity timeline than originally intended and less pressure to draw directly from Binder of Revelation and cause of more freedom to introduce new characters but Robots in Disguise chose to disregard auxiliary works of fiction such as the War for Cybertron games in favor of a new narrative based entirely on continuing forward from the Prime cartoon. Most prominently, this led to the introduction of a Grimlock whose appearance and personality varied wildly from the Grimlock introduced in the video games, an irreconcilable discrepancy that carried over to other characters who reused names such as Sideswipe and Kickback. This change of narrative cause fans to be confused with Two Grimlocks and Two Sideswipe(s) that were wondering of the old ones too and even a decepticon dinobot and no mentions of Shockwaves ever making one too and this made the continuity as a less consistent universe. After RID 2015 Ended in 2017 new shows like Cyberverse Siege toyline with Cybertron Shows and many starts and stops before making a new one. Hasbro has made disastrous attempts to make a universe of their own like Marvel and DC had done with their own universes whether it be on Cartoons or Live Action or Video Games. Looking back at it now it makes feel rather not happy with Hasbro making these bad choices and decisions and not have a single experience member on either group to make sure their on the right track and focus on telling their own stories and maybe would have let High Moon Studios to make their own takes of the G1 Cartoon as a Video Game than their ambitious takes of it and causing a lot of continuity errors and so on and so fourth looks like they didn't thought this through.
